Professional conduct

DOMAC is dedicated to protecting the public from unethical and incompetent administration and management practices in the workplace.

The standard

What the Code covers

The association’s Code of Conduct sets out the ethical standards for the profession. These national standards map out the ethical conduct, competent service and good character that all members of the association must abide by.

If you have a concern or a complaint to address, you can make a formal complaint to the Professional Conduct Committee.

Where to send a complaint

All complaints must be in writing and mailed to:

Dental Office Managers Association of Canada
Attention: Executive Director
4-1761 Wellington Avenue
Winnipeg, MB R3H 0G1

A complaint must be submitted within six months of the date on which the incident took place.

After you send it

What happens next

  1. The complaint is sent to the Executive Director.
  2. Upon receipt, the Executive Director has 30 days to notify the respondent identified in the complaint.
  3. The respondent has 30 days to file a written reply.
  4. Upon receipt of the reply, the Executive Director submits a copy to the Professional Conduct Committee.
  5. Within two weeks of receipt, the Committee convenes a meeting and decides what course of action to take.

It is our goal to ensure that a transparent process is in place for both the complainant and the respondent. A summary of all meetings held by the Professional Conduct Committee is posted on the association website.
